Capricorn College for TVET Celebrates the 3rd Annual College Academic Day
On Wednesday the 31st August 2016, when the country was celebrating the last day of the Women’s Month, Capricorn College for TVET celebrated its 3rd Annual College Academic Day. The event was attended by the College management, staff members, students and guests at the Senwabarwana Campus, Bochum.
“The aim of the event is to identify, nurture and expose talents within the College, we want to see future Presidents, Doctors, Communicators and Journalists from the College” said Ms Phutego Ngoasheng chairperson United Nations Association of South Africa (U"NASA) Seshego Chapter.
Activities of the day included Maths Olympiad, Poetry, Unprepared speech, Reading skills, Writing skills, Listening skills, Spelling Bee, as well as Story telling where participants from all four campuses competed against each other. The theme of the day was “Enhancing positive attitude towards English and Maths as core fundamental subjects for TVET Colleges”.
Mrs Mary Ramonyatse, the Chairperson of UNASA Capricorn College for TVET’s chapter alluded that “these academic activities help increase the number of organised, committed, responsible and confident youths to enter the South African labour market thereby improving the country’s economic growth”.
Ramokgopa Campus was the overall winner on the day by scooping two CEO Trophies thus being crowned the champions of the 2016 Annual CEO’s Trophy Tournament.
