Capricorn College for TVET Celebrates the 3rd Annual College Academic Day

I am the Captain of the Ship, so let’s not make it sink” said the CEO/Principal of Capricorn College for FET Mr KR Madzhie in his welcome adddress to delegates at the Academic Summit which took place at Bolvia Lodge on Thursday, 29 May 2014. “We are meeting here for the development of Capricorn College!Everyone must feel free to express himself, no opinion is wrong so be free!” he added. Mr Madzhie was delighted when he announced in the summit that we received an unqualified opinionfor our external audit for the sixth year in a row,. “We have good infrastructure and we have more plans to improve from where we are!Let us improve in everything including students perfomance. This is only possible if you have passion for your job!” he said.He also introduced two Capricorn College students who received scholarships to study in America.  Mr Thabiso Manana from Jane Furse at Sekhukhune District who studied Electrical Engineering at Chicago and Ms Lorraine Mphahlele from Ga-Mphahlele who studied Education and Development at Arizona.

 

Capricorn College will always be in her memory when she sees this gift.

Lorraine Mphahlele said she learnt various skills such as teaching methodology, early childhood development and leadership during her studies in America. “I like achieving my goals and I also want to encourage other students who are studying at Capricorn College to work hard to achieve your goals and one day you can get a scholarship like me!

 

Thabiso Manana said he learnt  extra knowledge such as community engagement because they attend conferences which focuses on issues of community development. He took the opportunity to thank everyone including Capricorn College for the support he received.
