Capricorn College for TVET hosted the 2016 Year End and Awards Ceremony meeting on the 02nd December 2016 at Protea Hotel-The Ranch, in Polokwane.  The meeting is intended to be a celebration and acknowledgement of the effort and the hard work of all lectures attached to the College’s for Campuses within the Capricorn District.

This celebratory event was also to encourage staff members to interact in a less formal setting thus fostering the spirit of team work. More than 240 lectures were awarded with Merit Certificates ranging from gold, silver and bronze for their admirable pass rates in the 2015 final examinations. Overall top performers were also given gift vouchers worth R1000 each, for their invaluable contribution to the College.

The CEO and Principal of the College, Mr Khorombi Madzhie, talking to staff members alluded that “you will never achieve anything until you work hard for it and the College and its management is proud of you for what you have achieved” and also encouraged everyone to work hard towards the realization of the College’s pre-determined goals.

The guest speaker of the day, Dr David Molapo from the ‘I Can Foundation’ ensured that everyone was in a jovial mood. Using a fine combination of humour and an incredible stage presence he mesmerized staff members with his message of hope. “As a College you should strive to have one vision, because having manifold visions will cause division within the College, thus impeding the success of the College” said Dr David Molapo.

Capricorn College for TVET Council Chairperson Dr NW Tshamano congratulated all awards recipients and expressed a message of gratitude on behalf of the Council. He further encouraged female staff members to complement and encourage each other at workplace.
